District of North Vancouver - Duncan/Stephen/Stewart/Mike G

Requests for action

    • People to show up at council for Spirit Trail 10-Feb. Important - NIMBYs expected in abundance.
      • Biggest opposition from residents (many wealthy folk) on Roslyn & Beachview drives.

Latest news:

  • Spirit Trail funding cut by $5million (only $2.5 million saved by DNV)
    • Support the southern route (or both northern & southern). Southern route is only topology with grades that can be AAA - good for kids, seniors, and "interested by concerned"
  • Mtn Hwy safety for kids - crossing guard motion. Not as good as infrastructure, but a worthwhile band-aid for now.
  • Wayfinding budget - see thread on groups.io. They have taken on board the "No Exit except bikes" concept and plan to work through that in 2025 budget. Add your wayfinding improvements in the spirit of "Debug the network"

Routes expected complete 2025:

  • Marine Drive - LGB to Capilano road - at long last.
  • Arborlynn Connector & Mtn Hwy - very fluid. Paving to be redone this summer. Something may be done. Wayfinding might get done.
  • Complete Salop-Brooskbank-Rufus-Kirkstone - including wayfinding. Almost done as of February 2025.
  • Spirit Trail (Seymour to Windridge and Roche Pt Trail) sections Confirmed, including wayfinding. Expected complete July 2025.

Mtn Hwy at Hwy 1 - Painted lanes south of Hwy 1 both sides

  • In process. Stuck in-between MoTT and DNV. MoTT & DNV liaisons are working through it.

District of West Vancouver - Peter/Mike C

  • On 1 April Jenn Moller and Sean O'Sullivan briefed the nvironment Committee on Active Transportation
