**For comparison, on a similar GBBW sunny day at the end of May in 2023, where the total number of riders was similar but there was a significant increase this year in the number of e-bikes riders (24% vs 16% in 2023). Also, more people were riding east than west this year, while westbound bike riders were more prevalent than eastbound riders in 2023. This year, the number of riders passing by the station during each 1/2 hour period were very similar, while in 2023, the first 1/2 hour period had the most and the last 1/2 period the least number of riders. Close to 1/4 of the riders stopped at the station in both years.

HUB North Shore Committee regular meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month at 6:30pm - 8:30pm. Everybody is welcome.

  • June 1st Social ride sponsored by Ohm bikes as a great success. Would ideally have more attendees so ideas on how to get more riders are welcome!
    • next ride idea Seymore Demonstration Forest, Sunday August 3 2025. 130-330 pm.
  • Future routes and priorities
    • Other Local Committees have talked to the Municipal Staff to find out what is planned and then done assessment rides on the route to provide as input.
    • Other Local Committees have done more social rides to attract membership and show off good existing routes.


City of North Vancouver - Rhonda/Easton/Jacob

  • Meeting with Staff
    • Last meeting was Sep-20. We will ask for another meeting in late January.
  • Esplanade
    • Advanced walk at Esplanade and Lonsdale
  • Upper Levels Greenway
    • Will start with the Lonsdale Ave to St. Andrews Segment first, working with MOTI on intersection improvements at Lonsdale and HWY 1
  • Casano Loutet Bridge
    • Will be under construction in early spring 2025 - the city received MOTI approval
  • Chesterfield and Midtown routes
    • HUB North Shore submitted an official letter of support for the staff report on these two routes.
    • Heather attended council to thank staff for this most comprehensive report ever : ) dealing with project risks and realistically handling design in tight spaces

  • Regular meeting with DNV staff June 06
  • Lynn Valley Pipeline Bridge Closure coming Aug 2025 - reroute via Lynn Headwaters
  • Mtn Hwy just south of Hwy 1 - lines repainted - alas, no flex posts... yet.
  • Delbrook Community Centre - Catherine Pope’s motion - please email council (at) dnv.org in support this weekend.

Ministry of Transportation & Transit - Mike C/Don

  • Requesting a meeting but still no response yet
    • Multiple broken sections of Stanley Park Causeway fencing have finally been fixed, asked how this could happen faster in the future,
    • Will discuss any improvement plans they have for 2025/26
    • Will discuss creating a prioritized list of operations related GAPs to be fixed
  • DNV support for MoTT improvements:
    • adding protection on Mtn Hwy from Overpass to Keith Road
    • removing baffle gates on tunnel under Hwy 1 east of cap road.

  • let us know if there is something we should communicate about - blocked bike lanes, new infrastructure, etc.
