*Lime is swapping out their fleet with their newest generation of e-bikes. These bikes have better power for steep hills (but have the same speed restrictions), better battery life, and their hardware will help Lime improve parking compliance in North Van. Increase in helmets on the bikes, but feedback on helmets has been limited thus far. Looking to collect more feedback and data re: helmet use, user perceptions, etc. soon. Plan is to have trip data publicly available. |

**immediate safety improvements, which include: Introduction of new, no right on red light restrictions implemented at the eastbound and westbound approaches; New green bike box markings in front of the eastbound and westbound stop bars; new single file operation at the intersection approaches. Longer term changes include introducing a Leading Pedestrian Interval (LPI) signal phase, signal phasing changes, and a fully protected off-road mobility lane on the north side of East 23rd Street, between Lonsdale Avenue and St Georges Avenue (delivered through the Harry Jerome Rec Centre project). |

<!--'''CNV Mobility Strategy''' |
*Strategy endorsed by Council on April 11 2022. Beyond ongoing initiatives, staff have been undertaking research and analysis on a number of new initiatives along with socializing some of this initial material with citizen committees. These initiatives include: |
**Reducing neighbourhood speed limits: Vehicle speeds are one component of developing safe streets, alongside street design, enforcement, and education. Establishing safe vehicle speeds on local streets is an important first step to addressing safety issues, and comes with limited negative impacts (i.e. a negligible difference in vehicle travel times). Staff will be looking to return to Council in early 2023 with recommended signage options for consideration for establishing safe and comfortable conditions on local streets. |
**Modernizing Transportation Requirements for New Developments: The City requires Transportation Studies and travel demand management (TDM) measures for most new multi-unit developments in the City. These requirements have some deficiencies that are leading to inconsistent outcomes. Updates are being planned for these requirements that will better align with goals from the Mobility Strategy, including how new developments will support emissions reduction, reductions in vehicle demand, and reductions in VKT. These are also anticipated to be brought forward in early 2023. |
**Updating the Resident & Visitor Parking Policy: The City has a parking policy to help reduce external parking pressure on residential streets near to commercial areas. There are several equity/access issues with RVPP given the ongoing changes to how people move around the City. An update to the RVPP to address inequities and better align with the Mobility Strategy will be brought to Council for consideration in early 2023. |

*Mobility Strategy (implementation of some strategies to commence this year, e.g. zoning bylaw updates re new developments and bike storage) |
*Carson Graham School - AT improvements (some sidewalk gaps to be addressed this year, most changes part of next year's budget) |
*Kings Mill (detailed park design underway, construction to begin: Spring 2023) |

<!--'''Moody Ave & 3rd''' |
*Daytime, the traffic signal on Moody Ave at East 3rd Street operates in coordinated mode favouring eastbound-westbound transit. |
*The cycle length on East 3rd Street corridor varies between 70 and 82 seconds and out of 82 seconds during the busiest time of day total of 51 seconds are allocated to favour the transit corridor traffic, meaning that in the worst case the pedestrians and cyclists crossing East 3rd Street will have to wait up to 51 second when they have just missed the window at arrival at the intersection. |
<!--'''Community Wellbeing Strategy''' |
*Engagement for draft strategy will be in mid/late June; in parallel with the Climate & Environment Strategy |
*Final strategies to be presented to Council in September |

'''Forbes & 3rd''' |
*Timeline for upgrades is uncertain; CNV is working with the Squamish Nation. Archaeological component to any changes given the site of a former residential school. |
*Could be up to 2 years away. |
'''Bike Storage Designs''' |
*As part of the Mobility Strategy, CNV will be looking at zoning bylaw updates regarding new developments and high quality bike storage/bike rooms designs. |
*Taking on some research over the summer re new developments (including on/off street bike parking). Will engage HUB on guidelines this summer/fall. |
*Sent this document to Brandon to share with the team: https://bikehub.ca/sites/default/files/hub_cycling_amenities_report.pdf |
'''Casano-Loutet Overpass''' |
*Staff are still working through the permitting process with MoTI and First Nations. Construction anticipated in 2023. |
'''Cotton-Main St Bridge Over Lynn Creek''' |
*Scope is two-fold: need to conduct a bridge inspection + putting forward a business case to widen the bridge |
*No detailed plans/designs yet; will engage HUB for input at a later stage |
*Need to wait for federal funding as it is going to be costly. --> |
<!--'''E-scooter Pilot (no update)''' |
*Bylaws received final adoption at Council in early March. Pilot runs until April 2024. |
*The pilot allows privately-owned e-scooters for personal use on local streets, paved multi-use pathways, and in mobility lanes. E-scooter share programs will not be permitted at this time. |

**New sidewalks on the east side |
**Bumpout & yellow delineators (at 9th) |
**Raised crosswalks (at 8th and 9th) |
*Due to a national road paint shortage, the road has not yet been repainted to narrow the travel lane and provide an uphill parking protected bike lane. |
*Once complete, counts will follow to measure changes to volume and speed. |
*Signage: |
**Signage typical on CNV bike routes will be added, confirming users are on the route. |
**Destination based bicycle way-finding is not included in this project, as it will be delivered once the City develops a broader wayfinding strategy. |

<!-- |
*May meeting update (held May 3): we received an overview of CNV's zoning bylaw policy (for information purposes only). CNV will be overhauling their zoning bylaws in the coming months, which could have direct and indirect impacts on cycling infrastructure (e.g., bike storage requirements for new builds, encouraging more community amenities to reduce travel distances, etc.). Public engagement on their zoning policy is expected to start in early June. |
