- Some things you may want to consider when completing the survey:
- On the 5th page, Ross Rd to E 27th Street regarding the - Bikelane southbound + MUP northbound
- Our suggested comment is: "Add protection (buffer+ posts) between traffic lanes and bike/multi-user paths on both sides, Narrow the traffic lanes to slow traffic speeds and provide buffer.
- Consider including: On the East side, I'd prefer to see a sidewalk with a separate bike lane. MUPs are shown to cause conflicts with people walking and cycling - not nice for people on foot - especially with the continued growth of ebikes (a good thing!) but average speeds are much higher - especially a long a utility trip route like this.
- On the 5th page, Ross Rd to E 27th Street regarding the - Bikelane southbound + MUP northbound
- The end of the bike lane before Ross road - dumping people on bikes into a right turn lane for cars must be fixed on this section.
- Whiteley Crt to E18th -
- Option 1 provides more comfort for both people walking and on bikes. Ensure the bikes lanes are wide enough to allow passing.
- Loading zone/short term Parking pockets - expensive.
- East 18th Street to Arborlynn Drive
- This is a false choice, both should be implemented - and at the very least - 14th to 18th requires bike lanes. Thank you for including the alternate route in your plans - a neighbourhood bikeway is an excellent option for this route. The neighbourhood bikeway would be better if it also continued along Appin, up East 27th, and Viewlynn all the way to LVTC.
- Option 1 - Mtn Hwy - slightly less steep, but next to heavy traffic
- Ensure the bikelanes are protected from traffic, especially at the sharp corners
- The bikelanes should be wide enough to permit passing, especially uphill.
- Option 2 - E18th, Appin, Arbourlynn - bit steeper, quieter, could connect to E20-viewlynn
- Protected bikelanes on both sides of Arbourlynn with separated sidewalk.
- Consider connection to 20th and viewlynn (quieter parallel route to Mtn Hwy)
- Whiteley Crt to E18th -
