City of North Vancouver - Nadia/Sophia
- Sophia is no longer able to act as CNV liaison. Need to appoint new reps.
- Nadia shared that a councillor will be introducing the following motion at the next meeting:
- WHEREAS in 2022 Council unanimously approved the City’s Mobility Strategy with the vision of having healthy streets that work for everyone with specific actions outlined, including those in part 5C: Supporting enforcement that reduces dangerous behaviour and prioritizes protection for vulnerable road users;
- WHEREAS in 2020 Council unanimously approved the City’s Safe Mobility Strategy, with a vision of safe streets for everyone, as places where people of all ages and abilities can move safely and comfortably without risk of harm, no matter where they are going or how they get around;
- WHEREAS people in the City often experience the behaviour of some drivers that exceed the posted speed limits and intersection requirements found in the Motor Vehicle Act that may result in negative noise and safety impacts;
- AND WHEREAS ICBC data indicates that there are more than 60 intersections in the City of North Vancouver that have had 20 or more casualty crashes between 2018 and 2022.
- THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT staff be directed to investigate and report back to Council on the implementation of no right turn on red lights at all intersections where there were over 20 casualty crashes during 2018 to 2022;
- AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Mayor write to the Provincial Government to request that it install speed and red light cameras at all locations in the City of North Vancouver where there were over 20 casualty crashes during 2018-2022, or that it allow BC municipalities to install speed and red light cameras at their own cost and collect fines.

Westmount Road bike lanes
- The bike lanes on the route between 31st St and Marine Drive up to Hwy 1 are very close to being completed.

- Peter noted that the lanes are buffered but do not include delineator posts.
- Blake suggested that a poured concrete "island" would assist with risk when trucks corner in the presence of cyclists where the route intersects at Hiway 1.

- Paul and I volunteered at the HUB Celebration Station on 13th and Argyle with Blake from Microworks on a wet Monday the 16th of October.

Lime Bike Share Presentation to DWV Council on 30 October
- Following a very comprehensive presentation, Council voted in favour of staff concluding the pilot project at the end of the year and working on transitioning to a more permanent arrangement.
- In the meantime, Lime will continue the program for up to 12 months in 2024.

- Notice of Spirit trail closure for 2 days at Mosquito creek marina.
- Strava now has a club on Strava which we can join https://www.strava.com/clubs/1166818?mc_cid=a3d0646417&mc_eid=5d6a015cb4
- Duncan shared that he logs rides via Strava.
- The app will also provide route suggestions for us.
- Not sure what the potential is to help solicit members and advocate using Strava.

- Heather reported that we can no longer use FB to post links to NS News and other Canadian sources. This severely limits the effectiveness of FB as a tool.
- Erika asked about the viability of our Wiki page to make this links available.
