In attendance
Andrew, Neil, Vince, Dragana, Leon
Hi from Colleen
Colleen mentioned that Mark Halpin is now working in Maple Ridge. Vince says her book about the OK is great.
Top 5 Map Gaps
Dragana has created a generic high level map of our Top 5 map gaps. Let's see about adding it to our Committee Wiki main page. http://wiki.bikehub.ca/sites/committees/index.php?title=Tri-Cities_Committee_Wiki Andrew to chat with Dragana about it later on.
Meeting in person
Some of us really hate Zoom. But the Coquitlam library has reduced hours (closing 8pm Tuesdays) and may not have meeting spaces open at all. Let's table this issue for a month and revisit it next time. We'll meet virtually next month and see how it goes from there.
20 in 20 update
20 in 20 is happening. There are email threads about it. Andrew to chase down current state of 20 in 20 and inform the committee via an email.
Dragana is thinking about creating a visualization of our 20 in 20 items. They can be hard to understand "as is" as items on a spreadsheet. Vince suggested emailing the committee for guidance as needed.
Andrew to ask Anne P. about bollards here. We could think about reducing them somewhat. https://www.google.com/maps/@49.2765169,-122.7617079,3a,37.6y,105.94h,85.68t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sToa9pWyfqpCQh7x7HypDfQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192
Vince mentioned that some 20 in 20 items are actually under MOTI jurisdiction. Lougheed Highway/ ramps off Lougheed Highway. He's wondering whether MOTI are at all involved. Let's look at whether they could ever become a player in 20 in 20. Vince has some potential contacts and is going to investigate further.
Shoreline Trail update
City has invited comment on Shoreline Trail upgrades. They are planning minimal improvements for cycling. Andrew to forward to the group.
Stanley Park cycling survey
Everyone please go here [1] and let CoV know that you like the idea of separated cycle facilities on the ring road around Stanley Park.
Any other business: AGM
Neil: On the 17th of September, there is going to be a Virtual AGM including voting for new Board members, featuring a talk from Bowinn Ma (NV MLA, Minister for Translink). Any HUB member can register for the AGM and take part in secure voting for new Board members.
Neil is not going to seek re-election :-(. He will stay on the mailing list and pop into meetings every once in a while.
Thanks for everything Neil!
Any other business: Major Bikeway Network updates
Neil says: Translink is updating the MBN. They engaged LCs about it. Andrew will try emailing Jeff L. about this.
