TriCities HUB Committee Meeting Minutes (provisional

Date/Time: Dec 1, 2015, 7:00-8:50PM.

Location: Coquitlam Public Library, 1169 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam

1. Updates on cycling developments in TriCities and elsewhere.(Jack, Simon)

The city of Port Coquitlam is sponsoring a professional bike race – PoCo Grand Prix. TriCities HUB will plan to have an information table at the event.

Andres Wine Open House: Jack reported on the development planned for Port Moody. A third open house will be held Dec 7 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

2. Report on meeting with City of Port Moody (Andrew) Andrew was not available.

There was discussion of the issues for improving bike lanes through Port moody between Moody Street and Barnet Highway. Port Moody will be having a zoning bylaw open house (date and time not known). Rick Glumac of Port Moody encourages participation by HUB. Jack suggested that we put together a letter approved by HUB in support of improvements in this corridor. Report on the staff changes at the City of Port Moody. Simon and Jack plan to talk with them (when not specified).

Discussed the use of the trail beside Barnet between the new SkyTrain portal and Reed Point Marina. Simon suggested an evaluation ride.

3. Main agenda item: Finalize TriCities "ungap the map" for HUB main office. Detailed discussion and analysis of gap map prepared by HUB. Simon put up the HUB map for discussion. The group discussed issues related to the gaps reported by HUB. Final maps were submitted to Colin S.

4. AOB

Stu explained issues with Spuraway at Como Lake and Mariner. It is difficult for riders to get from Spuraway across both Mariner Way and Como Lake Avenue onto the MUP along the south side of Como Lake Ave. It is also unsafe when people park along the road near the bus stop.
