North Shore Hub Committee meeting - April 4, 2024

  • Bike Maps
    • Cathy looking into funding to print little Z-fold North Shore ones. Peter suggested the West Van environmental group may be a source.
    • Funds for last printing came from Muni's + translink + MEC.


  • Events
    • Earth Day event - CNV - Sat, April 20th in Moodyville Park.
    • Booth STAFFED BY Finn, Erika, Blake, and Derrick
  • Spring Go By Bike Week, June 3-9, 2024.
    • will need people to staff celebrations stations. Peter in West Van
    • Ann is the Hub organizer. Sign up at bike hub.ca
  • Need volunteers to get and distribute 20 GBBW posters - libraries, bike stores, coffee shops
    • Derrick can do some.
  • Blueridge Good Neighbour Day - Sat June 15th
    • Stewart + need 4 people for 2 shifts:
  • Shipyards 5th birthday - CNV, Sat July 20th 14:00-20:00
    • need 6 people for 2 x 3 shifts: Don, ???
    • tent and table at Don's
  • City of North Vancouver - Don(temporary)
    • Next meeting early April
    • They will look into extending bike lane protection for intersection up to Neptune terminal intersection.
    • Asked them to repaint bikelanes on Lynn Creek Bridge
  • ITC - Jonathan attended recent meeting but no discussion around AT.
  • First Nations - Kira
    • No updates
  • District of North Vancouver - Duncan/Stephen/Stewart
    • Hub lettersent re: Spirit Trail East
  • Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure - Mike/Don
    • Don has e-mailed our MOTI contact but no recent responses.
  • Communications & Outreach - Rueben/Paul/Heather
    • Rueben will post an update on Orwell at Main Street improvements.
    • Info on Library ebike program sent to Heather.
  • Schools - Paul Janzen
    • 80% of the way towards universal public school cycling education in Metro Van!
    • Mayor Sager DWV asked for an estimate to provide full funding for school programs. Paul J to follow up with Tim at Hub central.
