Election

• Colin nominates Vince for the position of Infrastructure Lead. Vince wins unanimously and will be in charge of tracking new infrastructure projects and prioritizing advocacy efforts.
• Colin nominates Leon for the position of Trails & Greenways Representative. This is a new position which will be responsible for liaising with various groups responsible for building and advocating for greenways, many of which Leon is already a member. Leon wins unanimously.
• Colin nominates Andrew for Co-Chair. Andrew wins unanimously.
• Andrew nominates Colin for Co-Chair. Colin wins unanimously.

2023 Action Plan

• Andrew will build a 2023 Action Plan based on the 2022 Action Plan. The committee was able to set up booths and provide community outreach last year as intended in the 2022 Action Plan and looks forward to laying out more success opportunities this year via the new Action Plan.

Action Item:

• Andrew will build a new action plan and send it to attendees for review via Google Docs. Andrew will then present it to the committee at the next meeting (February 7) for ratification.

Advocacy Updates

• It is noted that that BC Housing and the Kwikwetlem First Nation ordered signage as detailed in the report, which has arrived on site pending install. It is suggested that more regular communication with the KFN occurs given their strong support. Colin suggests offering to install signage if manpower is an issue.

Other Items

United Boulevard

• Andrew notes a member has brought up complaints regarding Colony Farm and United Boulevard. The member is upset with construction blockages of the Western Perimeter Trail as well as lack of safe infrastructure on United Boulevard. The member suggests sending a letter to the City of Coquitlam to keep pressure. The member will write the letter and the Committee will review & sign on to it. Leon wants it sent to Thomas Thivener – is there potential to invite Thomas to a meeting? Leon also notes the planners are generally the first point of contact for trails and greenways ahead of council. Also potential to discuss alternatives – can they find an alternative option for us? Can find out what staff are willing to do /

• Aaron Dixon may still be on parental leave. Vince will confirm.

Port Moody Updates

• Andrew notes the Transportation Committee was put on pause following the election. Andrew will contact the city to determine next steps.

Year in Review

Colin provided the following statistics for the year in review:

• One gap eliminated (*921, Prairie Avenue from Coast Meridian to Burns Rd)
• Eight letters sent
• Three additional gaps added to our top gap map
• One new master gap map created
• One assessment ride, through southwest Coquitlam
• New signage & upgrades for Sumiqwuelu (incoming)
• New curb bulbs for the Donald Pathway in Port Coquitlam
• New RRFB as Wilson/Donald in Port Coquitlam (install unconfirmed, but incoming)
• Very successful municipal elections
• 7 delayed projects
