Andrew H., Dragana R., Vince H., Colleen M., Kathryn B.

Mission Reflection

HUB's mission is to get more people cycling more often.

Committee priorities defined in our 2020 Action Plan

  1. Improve our relationships with municipalities.
  2. Improve committee focus.
  3. Improve our visibility in the community.

It's time to revisit these priorities and see if they make sense.

Reminder of our Top 5 Map Gaps

Additional gap from Colleen: Regional Greenways [1] plan – gap between 1st avenue in Ioco and Sasamat Lake

Andrew motions to make the list a ‘top 6’ list so that we also articulate needs in Anmore/Belcarra; all in favour of adding it

October 2020 Meeting Minutes

Approved.

Committee priorities for 2020 follow-up

Are we on track for all 2020 committee to-dos?

Andrew emailed Anne Pynenberg to invite her to a HUB meeting to discuss the route from Pitt River Bridge to Coquitlam Centre; no response as of yet

Andrew to write to Leon to connect with someone from Metro Vancouver on Port Mann Bridge access

Andrew didn’t do priority 3 but will do for next month (advertising in TriCity News)

Kathryn sent an email to PoCo Mayor and Council to improve signage; Councillor Laura Dupont acknowledged potential to improve cycling in PoCo

PoMo Transportation Committee nomination follow-up

Andrew let HUB know that Scott K. is our nominee. HUB has sent letter to Port Moody to let them know.

Woodland Park Development Update

Kathryn and Andrew met with developers via Zoom to discuss active transportation infrastructure needs for the Woodland Park [2] development. Due to location of development, it's not transit-oriented

Developers want to make a ‘nicer’ grade down Highview Place to connect with Clarke Road – solves problem of how to get bike traffic up the hill without going on busy Clarke

Discussed the developers participating in an upcoming TriCities HUB meeting to share information, plans & garner support

Committee should stay focused on the improvements for Highview Place

Review final copy of Translink Local Cycling Network map

Andrew to send out the email from HUB about final edits on the Translink Local Cycling Network Map

Take a look and send edits to Dragana for her to map out

Other Business

Dragana to contact Evan Hammers about some edits to the ‘Quick Fix’ map (formerly known as 20 in 20)

Vince noticed some improvements on route from Coquitlam Centre – stretch between Dewdney Trunk and Chilko has been completed – much better than having to go on the sidestreets – stretch of path being improved near Mundy Park between Como Lake and Mariner

Meeting adjourned at 7:29 p.m.
