* Sea to Skye mapping project: Two SFU students, Aaron and Mike, briefed us on their bike safety project in which they plan to use GIS to produce a map showing the most dangerous sections for cyclists on the Sea-to-Sky highway between West Vancouver and Whistler. Ann is auditing and helping them with the project. It is planned to present the results to MoT and MP John Weston. It was suggested that they give us a presentation on their project and this presentation could be open to the public. Ann offered to help organize this, probably sometime in March. The results of the project will include some proposals on how to mitigate some of the safety concerns. |
