Recap of meeting with Jeff Leigh

Jeff L. is the chair of HUB "Mothership". Met with Jack and a Surrey HUBster regarding updating a bike priorities map for Translink. This will contribute to how TL funds projects.

Translink interested in Clark-Murray Street (!) as a priority; this doesn't match PoMo's current priorities at all. Jack mentioned: - David Avenue - United Blvd. - Lougheed Highway

Issues: If cities don't/ won't buy in, it's hard to see what will come of TL's priorities. Usual conflicts between regional and local interests apply.

Jack went Hillcrest Middle School won an award for their Bike to School Week ~500 people (!) in attendance Urban Racks rep there Jeff Leigh got an award also

Poco want us to do a cycling seminar in May: what should we talk about?

Policing Community Policing Subject: bike safety, bike maintenance, HUB cycling priorities

Jack to do a talk on our regional cycling priorities (as they pertain to the Tri-Cities)

Action item: Andrew to look into How Not To Get Hit By A Car talk

Fiona has "Look Think Go" a guide to interpreting bike-related road markings and signs.

Let's work some more on getting a Poco rep out to a meeting

Geoff: railing on the Coquitlam River bridge on Mary Hill Bypass is 44" high; is this up to code? Geoff is looking into this. Much lower than the railing on the Port Mann bridge, which was presumably built to some spec.

What is the TAC guideline? Action item: Andrew to look into this

Meredith and Laura Jane met with Mike Farnworth about the Motor Vehicle Act

Farnworth is the provincial Minister of Public Safety

Road Safety Law Reform Group has a position paper about modernizing the MVA

We're still interested in the buried Mary Hill Bypass trail. Action item: Geoff to email Claire Travena
