Visit from Ken Krueger and Canisius Chan
Committee heard from Ken Krueger (Transportation Planning Technologist, City of Coquitlam) and Canisius Chan (Senior Transportation Planning Engineer) about the immediate future plans for Port Coquitlam, including a path along Como Lake near Hillcrest Elementary.
Committee's response is here: File:Ken Krueger Letter January 2018.docx
Open house Pipeline Rd infrastructure changes
Jack reported on this open house. There is potential for cyclists to lose space on the road and to be relegated to a MUP as a result of this project.
Committee Workshop recap
Committee heard from Andrew and Jack regarding the HUB Committee workshop put on at HUB's rather nice new DTES digs. Lots of interesting and useful information from successful HUB local committees.
Let's work on our #1 map gap, United Blvd.
Committee had a not-very-fruitful exchange with the Coquitlam guest speakers regarding United Blvd. It appears that there is very little possibility of progress on this front through Coquitlam. Yet this remains as one of the region's most significant map gaps. Committee resolved to explore other means of fixing this issue. It looks like there is some Translink funding available for routes along this corridor, for example.
