    2. Less than a gap but more than a quick fix

  7. Sasamat Greenway updates
    1. Collen presented to the Port Moody transpo committee and received a UNANIMOUS vote in support of looking into it
    2. Andrew added the Transpo Committee is aware of these issues and is optimistic, plus transpo committee decisions often fare better at council
    3. Talks with council are underway
    4. Springboard Trail is now car parking overflow
    5. Still some concerns regarding “who benefits” from Port Moody
    6. The Belcarra section is going through! What an exciting achievement. The Mayor is also speaking to other local mayors to complete the entire route
    7. Anmore is also supportive – and surprisingly, a new MUP in Anmore is going through. Colin is confirming location
    8. Waiting for an email back from Metro Vancouver parks – Colleen will keep pursuing
  8. Colony Farm Letter
    1. We received a letter of support from MLA Selina Robinson in support! Letter was sent to Rob Fleming
    2. Colleen talked to Councillor Craig Hodge and also on the Metro Park Board – he said bring it to Council via staff
    3. Laurel suggests reaching out to Metro regarding Mundy Creek Trail connection – would vastly improve Lougheed-adjacent connections
  9. TransMountain update
    1. Colin and Andrew met with Shawna Deagle from TMX
    2. Construction along United and Fawcett is ruining the existing bike route – with roads narrowed, this is a recipe for disaster
    3. We suggested bikes should be able to use sidewalks and to let cyclists have some headway in advance of big trucks
    4. Shawna sent an email to the truckers association asking them to be mindful of cyclists
    5. Plenty of enforcement of 30 km/h zone
    6. Andrew mentioned plenty of signage needed
    7. Laurel brought up if Coquitlam should have a construction bylaw for pedestrian/cyclist access
    8. Mayor Stewart is wondering this question as well – something to look into as well, and he’s already asked

    1. Coquitlam on board, also considering adding runnels
    2. PoCo on board and will consider adding runnels into the Master Transpo Plan
  12. Councillor Towner’s motion for “no exit”
    1. She’s working for a system where “no exit” signs would change when the street allows cyclists and pedestrians can go through
  13. Hazel-Coy Session

    2. Trying to fit bikes into the top of Burke Mtn – I mentioned account for e-bikes, they mentioned a local store so I brought up keeping speeds LOW and more good bike parking at the stores to axe parking minimums
    3. Bike parking at local parks too, and maybe getting the 3 bike rack on TransLink buses instead of 2 bike
    4. Colleen clarified: TransLink cannot fit 3-bike racks

  15. Guildford Gap in Port Moody - between Coquitlam border and Ioco once Guildford Way protected bike lanes are done in 2023, hopefully

    1. The city has bought lots of “staple racks” – people seem enthused based on Instagram engagements
  19. HUB working with Green Party for bike maps
    1. Will provide Metro maps to the Green Party
  20. Bike to Shop Week
    1. Volunteers needed! August 7-20
  21. Bikehub.ca – Dragana wants to email Evan to ask him to put in her map
    1. Committee agrees – would make a great resource for cyclists
  22. Newsletter – reach out to Maple Ridge committee to learn how they do it
    1. Could maybe just use groups.io because these members manually signed up for it so wouldn’t violate laws
  23. People For Bikes announced global city ratings for biking
    1. Coquitlam and PoCo got around #40 out of 100
    2. Dragana will reach out for more info on this
    3. Runs a survey on this. Coquitlam and PoCo have results but Port Moody didn’t get enough data to get put on there
  24. Burquitlam station issues
    1. Dragana received an email from Coquitlam staff – will forward it to the group
