MOTI have also identified it as the most important gap in our region (Tri-Cities committee agrees)

MOTI policy has been to get the bike route off their ROWs as soon as possible.

Coquitlam's old study assumed everyone wanted the same thing (It wound up being a scenic route) HUB doesn't really agree with this.

HUB attempted to contact property owners a few years back... Got nowhere

RAC is talking about going back there to do a new assessment ride.

Translink and MOTI are both interested in the possibility of an AAA route that will fill this gap. Also there are new people in Coquitlam

Richard favors a route north of the tracks; this is somewhat different from the route south of the tracks that this committee has favoured. Richard says these goals are probably not contrary to each other.
Scott: Consider calling this the Riverview Greenway?

North route advantages
- Faster (people can use it to get to beautiful places fast, even if it is not that beautiful)
- One stakeholder (MOTI). We can get around un-cooperative city by lobbying the province.

South route advantages
- Cheaper
- Only need Coquitlam to get on board
- More scenic
- Connects to New West Greenway

River route is an option too

Idea: Get Alex to do a presentation to Coquitlam city council?
Action item: Schedule an assessment ride for RAC/ Tri-Cities Committee to investigate routes through this area.

Scott went to a PoMo meeting where the Murray Street bikeway extension was presented, and endorsed it on behalf of HUB Tri-Cities. Thanks Scott!
Committee discussed strategies for Clark St, our highest priority Port Moody map gap and an important regional connection to the Barnet Highway.

Simon met Laura Dupont (PoCo) and discussed the Patricia route.
Action item: Andrew to send a link to Simon's letter out to everyone.
