    • Lynn Valley Day was rained out but many came to our booth at North van City Canada Day.
    • Next year we should plan in advance to participate in the Canada Day parade.

    • We will consider participating in the Coho Festival in West Vancouver on Sunday, 11 September at Ambleside Park.
    • Tony suggested that we consider organizing a passion bike event next summer (https://www.facebook.com/passionbikevalencia/) which is a family event at sunrise.

    • Nelson briefed the goup on the Biketoria webinar about the success of planning for and installing cycling infrastructure in Victoria.
    • Political will and community engagement were important factors contributing to the success.
    • 5 km of AAA bike lanes this year with plans for 20 more km by 2018.
    • SFU cities program put on a webinar – pulic health perspective

      • Fred went to a developer open house on the project which is planned to contain 180 suites and 280 parking spots as required in the bylaw.
      • We should see how it merges with Spirit Trial and bike master Plan.
      • DNV Public Library bike racks- Antje found out plan it is to put bike racks outside and three at Lynn Valley
      • DNV should follow TransLink bike rack guidelines
      • Antje informed the meeting about a potential greenway Blueridge to Parkgate where there is currently a hiking trail and a perimeter trail around the golf course.

      • A HUB letter suggesting uphill bike lanes on 15th and 21st Streets during planned repaving has been prepared and will be sent on 15 July.
    • Secure Automated Bicycle Parking Systems
      • Nick Mani, the CEO of Mazdis, presented some of these very space efficient and visually appealing parking systems.
      • He showed us some slides of the 35 and 54 rack units.
      • In response to our question about cost, he estimated that the smaller unit capable of storing 35 bicycles would cost about $40,000.
      • Nick said that these systems tend to attract more cyclists to locations where they are installed.
      • Nick can provide more information on these systems and how they differ from TransLink's current secure bike parkade.
