TriCities HUB Committee Meeting Minutes
Date/time: Tuesday May 6, 7:00-8:50PM.
Location: Coquitlam Foundation room, Coquitlam Public Library, 1169 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam
In attendance: Sean R, Andrew H, George S, Fiona W, Simon W, Jack T.
1. Recommendations to Coquitlam regarding Lougheed/Brunette:
Most of the meeting was spent reviewing signage and road marking suggestions submitted to our committee by Coquitlam for the Brunette/Lougheed intersection. Summary:
-Westbound markings are ok
-Several changes suggested for eastbound. These are summarized in this file: File:Lougheed Hwy - Propose Bike marking changes-HUB-edits.pdf
2. Bike day event
Fiona proposed local committee involvement in Bike Day event on May 26. This seems like a worthwhile event, however, there were no volunteers to lead it. With more lead time this would be a good item for next year.
3. Bike to work stations
Brief discussion of upcoming bike to work stations.
-1. Poirier/Foster (Coquitlam) Monday 4-6
-2. Guilford/Landsdowne (Coquitlam) Tuesday 4-6
-3. Murray/IOCO (Port Coquitlam) Thursday 4-6
Local volunteers available for all three stations. Note: stations 2 and 3 are better suited to morning stations because of the direction of commuter cyclists.
