Survey still up until Friday May 7th 2021

Plan to be finialized Q2 2022.

Leon mentioned that he is interested in a signage program for people who are interested in doing the Trans-Canada Trail.

Colin asked about McAllister footbridge plan He is interested in connecting the footbridge to Donald. Melony has this on her radar.

Andrew asked about having more long named routes (e.g. amalgamating Patricia, a final connection to Lincoln and the Traboulay Trail into a route linking Pitt River/ Minnekhada to SkyTrain). It's really nice for wayfinding. Colleen mentioned bubbles in Spirit Trail intersections, making it clear to users where to go across complicated intersections an making it clear to drivers that there is a trail here that needs to be respected and that connects to other places where they may have seen bubbles.

Coquitlam has secured $22M to upgrade Lougheed Highway from Westwood to Shaughnessy including a bridge upgrade across Coquitlam River.

Colin interested in widening the Shaughnessy tunnel for cyclist access. Colin mentioned the 30 km/hr initiative Melony interested in providing more physical impediments to separate pedestrians and cars. Adherence rate is very low without this. "Sidewalks first". We will put speed bumps in on defined higher priority routes.

Leon interested in Colony Farm problems. Currently there is no continuity through due to Trans Mountain Pipeline blockages. It is disrupting access out of PoCo. Action item: Let's try and find out what Coquitlam knows about this.

Colleen mentioned that we are happy to help promote PoCo's infrastructure projects.

Andrew to put Dragana in touch with Melony.

Prairie: Fremont to Burns to get MUPs.

Kingsway getting filled in with MUPs for its entire distance. First phase is going to be the rec centre to Coast Meridian; second Coast Meridian to the dyke trails.

Recap of Coquitlam town hall meeting

Guildford Greenway is on the radar United MUP currently considered out of the question [todo add slides here] Riverview connection currently on the radar considered to connect to Pitt River Road. King Ed to Clipper is under consideration as a MUP

Dragana thought that everyone there was enthusiastic about cycling. But the city is worried that they don't have support from residents. Colin: Southwest Housing review had support for cycling. We should bring that to Coquitlam's attention.

Cedar Drive project

1000 meters of disconnected MUP proposed 3 1/2 meters planned. Colin asked for 4 but they said no for environmental reasons.

Colin asked for filling in the final 750 meters, but it sounded like no funding was in place. Eventually there is a plan for the whole loop to be closed. But it's 15-20 years out.

MOTI gap prioritization

We figure that Argue Street along Mary Hill and Pitt River Bridge to Coquitlam Centre are the only candidates. Colin knows Bowen Ma, Minister of Infrastructure.

Andrew, Vince and Colin will go. Andrew to forward info around.

Climate change workshops

TODO add slides Mark Norbury and friends interested in creating a series of webinars around climate change and our future. Workshops planned for September to November 2021, Saturday mornings and around 2 hours Andrew to get Mark in touch with Evan Hammer.

Any other business
