Report of the Co-Chair (Andrew)

  • Port Moody has started constructing the St Johns St MUP. Curb bulges may present challenges for people biking on the road.
    • Action Item: Andrew to bring curb bulges on the St. John's Street MUP to Transpo Committee.
  • Port Moody Transpo Committee is not as focused on cycling as previously.

Report of the Co-Chair (Colin)

  • Big wins recently with Port Coquitlam reviewing acceptability of maze gates in the design standards and vowing to remove all maze gates by Spring 2024. Port Moody has also begun reviewing their design standards for maze gates.
  • Guildford Greenway delayed to mid-October completion.

Report of the Infrastructure Lead (Vince)

  • Action Item: Vince to add “reduction of maze gates” to Gap list.
  • Vince and Colleen reviewed the draft Coquitlam Transportation Plan update and provided feedback to the city. Noted the City wants to keep car traffic constant despite population increase by 2050. Vince staying informed on this.

Report of the Trails & Greenways Representative

  • Port Moody has begun soliciting public input for the new trails master plan. Leon attended a Zoom session and provided input regarding the trail along the north side of Barnet Highway as well as Clarke Street.

Guildford Greenway Ride

  • The committee will begin preparations for a celebratory ride on October 22. The route will be from Pinetree and Guildford to Ungless and Guildford, and back. Starting approximately 10 AM.
  • Action item: Colin to begin preparations for the ride.
