1. What modes of transportation do you normally use within Metro Vancouver?

Primarily car, but also transit and walking. My family cycles recreationally, but not as a form of transportation.

2. How would you support and encourage parents and children to cycle to school to promote healthy and liveable communities?

I would like to see safe biking courses as the schools and perhaps the cycling equivalent of the “walking school bus”, where groups of kids ride to school together.

3. What role do you think the school board has in supporting and promoting cycling education and training for children?

The school board can designate “bike to school weeks” and encourage bike safety programs. Schools need to also ensure that they have adequate bike racks available for the cyclists.

Sincerely,

Carolyn Broady
