Announcements

Ironworkers Memorial Bridge scheduled sidewalk closures

We have received the following update on the sidewalk widening project from the Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure:

  • Short term closure of the West sidewalk Dec 10-11, 2013
  • Short term closure of the East sidewalk Dec 12-20, 2013
  • Long term closure of the East sidewalk Jan 7–Aug 8, 2014

Detour signage will be installed which will direct cyclists and pedestrians during the closures.

Preliminary works needed in preparation for the sidewalk replacement and safety fence installation are ongoing, these works include adjustments to signage and lighting, site preparations, scaffolding erection and approach maintenance. Once these works are complete the Contractor will begin the sidewalk demolition.
