Update from Jack and Meredith re meeting with PoCo: Had great meeting with staff Anne Pynenberg. Discussing for priorities for investments in cycling in PoCo: Paved, lit, direct route to SkyTrain Kingsway from Mary Hill Bypass to Wilson Shaughnessy Street north of downtown, to connect to bike route in Coquitlam Meredith to finalize scoring gaps, and send gap list to Anne

Fraser Mills update Jack spoke to Coquitlam staff today 2 bridge proposals – one close to water (probably to be built first), second for commuters farther up, later application submitted Concern re keeping bike lane on King Ed overpass swept regularly. Developer’s truck traffic may be the cause. Jack will send an email to the City.

Eagle Ridge Hospital Wheel2Heal Ride May 6th Jack set up a Tri-Cities HUB team. Interested people can join the HUB team.

UnGapTheMap Andrew scored highest priority gaps in December – we need to score the rest Meredith to finish scoring PoCo gaps Meredith to bring a big map of Coquitlam next meeting, showing which gaps we have ID’d. Interest in connecting the Gap list to a mapping system of some sort – Open Street Map, google maps, Bike Maps… See Mountain Math website.

Andrew provided written update on PoMo Master Transportation Plan (see agenda)

Bike Parkade going in at Coquitlam Central, Lafarge Lake stations – good news.

HUB 2017 AGM To be hosted in the Tri-Cities in 2017 – Sept 16, 9th or 23rd? Coquitlam Public Library could book room with 60 person capacity – there may be a small fee for a non-profit Pinetree Community Centre at the Secondary School, Douglas College, Evergreen Cultural Centre

Jack volunteered at Bike Show on Sunday – lots of interest in HUB’s work.

Westport Village at Clarke & Barnett (Andre’s Wine site): Andrew is attending a meeting tonight to voice cycling perspectives. Leon has been monitoring as well. Incorporating the TransCanada trail into project in 2 ways – throughway from corner of Clarke & Douglas diagonally to Schoolhouse Creek, another way along Clarke a bike pathway between Douglas & Barnet, with a trail following the creek, also connecting with existing bike switchback trail. Flavelle Cedar (sp?) site may also be redeveloping, which may open up possibilities.

Leon is working on a Canada 150 greenways/trails event from over the next few months. TCT25 – on www.Trailsbc.ca website. Partnering with Fraser Fest, and also Wanderung.

Group ride – to attract some more interested riders. Could invite people from the facebook site for a ride. On a Sunday ride. Meredith to check into getting waivers


Bike Shorts film festival? Pinetree Rec Centre has a theatre with capacity ~60 people, Terry Fox Theatre Opportunity to partner with a local brewery? Port Moody boat house?

PoCo Grand Prix Meredith will enquire about having a tent set up – cheaper rate for non-profit? Will look into volunteer opportunities this year
