Antje,

Thank you very much for the questionnaire. Please find attached my answers. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Chris Dorais

Candidate for School Trustee

City of North Vancouver

1. What modes of transportation do you normally use within Metro Vancouver?

I usually drive a vehicle, but also walk and use transit periodically.

2. How would you support and encourage parents and children to cycle to school to promote healthy and livable communities?

I believe the best way to do this would be to work with community partners, parents, and teachers in engaging our youth on what they think the most effective ways would be to support/encourage cycling to school thus promoting healthy and liveable communities. They will come up with creative ideas that they can relate to and act upon.

3. What role do you think the school board has in supporting and promoting cycling education and training for children?

I believe the School Board should play a role of assisting in collaboration on this issue. By that, I mean working with Municipalities, the Recreation Commission, Vancouver Coastal Health, and other community groups to see how best these issues and cycling education/training can be best introduced, promoted and supported, and funded for our youth. This would be a community issue that requires community collaboration.
