City of North Vancouver - Don(temporary) Meeting with Staff Next meeting early April Casano-Loutet Overpass Still waiting for MoTI, hope to start this spring. 3rd St/Cotton/Lower Level Rd They will look into extending bike lane protection for intersection up to Neptune terminal intersection. Asked them to repaint bikelanes on Lynn Creek Bridge ITC - Jonathan

Last Month's meeting was presentation by Translink, but nothing new regarding cycling. Apparently CNV council is discussing the upper level greenway + the lonsdale/hwy overpass later this month. I'm hoping that preliminary designs come to the ITC for input sometime soon.


First Nations - Kira Generate summaries of their cycling related goals and then add assessment of how this aligns with our goals. Also how this aligns with neighbouring muni's plans. Develop strategy how to move forward. Plans Squamish Nation Strategic Plan 2022-2026 Land Use Plan 2023 Tsleil Wauthuth Nation Active Transportation Plan 2023 Musquem Indian Band Land Use Plan 2020 Improving Active Transportation


District of North Vancouver - Duncan/Stephen/Stewart Regular Bi-monthly Meeting with Staff in February Projects/sections Expected completed in Next 4-6 months Main Street North Side - construction underway Mt. Seymour Pkwy: (MSP) improvements Superstore to Parkgate - tenders received and looking good Mtn Hwy - Hwy1 overpass to Arborlynn - out to tender soon. Funding needs to be spent in 2024. Main Street South Side - issues discussed Spirit Trail East Lynn Valley to Lower Lonsdale: Lynn Valley Rd – Mtn Hwy to Mollie Nye Applied for TransLink Bus Speed and Reliability Funding for corridor study. Funding decision from TransLink expected in March.


District of West Vancouver - Paul/Peter/Mike Council, at its 11 March meeting, voted against Engineering & Transportation staff's 2nd presentation of its well-prepared plan for a bike lane on the north side of the 2500 block of Marine Drive. Only Councillor Gambioli voted in favour of it. See the following article in the North Shore News at: https://www.nsnews.com/local-news/west-van-puts-brakes-on-one-block-bike-lane-in-dundarave-8538331#google_vignette. The District's Engineering & Transportation staff are planning on partnering with ICBC this spring/summer to do a Network Screening Study of intersections in West Vancouver to identify safety improvements for peds, bikes, and vehicles, that they can incorporate into a multi-year capital program to improve intersection safety. They hope to have a project agreement with ICBC by the end of the month. Paul and I will represent HUB North Shore at the 12 April Howe Sound Community Forum meeting. This forum, hosted by Mayor Mark Sager and the District of West Vancouver will feature a Roundtable discussion on Transportation Alternatives and Opportunities in the afternoon from 2:00-3:00. The Honorable Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, Lana Popham who is an avid cyclist, will be joining the meeting to introduce the topic of trails and bike tourism. Schools - Paul Janzen 80% of the way towards universal public school cycling education in Metro Van! Richmond, Vancouver, New West, Port Moody, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, Hopefully City of North Van - all schools every 2 years. Surrey, Burnaby, District of NVan, Delta, Township of Langley, Coquitlam getting there with municipal and ERG45 funded L2R’s Collingwood road ride April 8 & 9. Volunteers from our committee are welcome. leaving from Ambleside area near boci field beside yacht club.
